a day at the beach of an inland sea

today grandma and grandpa took us to the illinois state beach. the vastness of lake michigan is absolutely amazing. you feel like you are at the ocean, except the water temperature is slightly chillier than that of the gulf coast states. this pictures says it all.  need i say more?

this will not be the last time you play in "your big bath tub". you will see the octopus again.....

brady busy planning his next trip to florida on our last night in our room. we will have fun here once again at the pink shell. this has become our new favorite family destination for a little r and r.

off to the beach for a day of fun in the sun

a good weather day and we were off for some fun in the sand and water. we had a wonderful day splashing, packing sand, carrying buckets of water back to our castle and personal baby pool, loading and dumping sand from our john deer dump truck and excavator. what more could a family ask for? can we go back yet? logan was in complete awe of the ocean, and maybe a little shock too as the water was a little chilly. brady just wanted his dump truck and shovel. mommy and daddy well, we loved watching them play, build and splash. thanks grandpa and grandma for such a wonderful vacation. the time spent with you was priceless. the boys love you so much.

the rain finally stopped

we emerged from our room to walk along the beach and check out the pool. it was slightly windy and very chilly but the view from the rain logged sand was still calming and beautiful. who needs a swim suit to have some fun. this is like a giant bath tub and we had it all to ourselves.

what do you do when it rains all day on your first day of vacation in florida? you go to the crab races! we all picked a crab. we cheered them on. the last pic is brady's crab, he named him jr, winning! good for one free ice cream sundae!
